CCMCC Annual Meeting

Researchers, NGO partners and stakeholders of the DFID / NWO-WOTRO funded Conflict and Cooperation in the Management of Climate Change programme in Nepal gathered to reflect on key lessons learnt from research conducted in the country over the past four years. Four research projects working in Nepal presented their findings and their recommendations to promote cooperation in the management of climate change interventions.
1. Conflict and Cooperation over REDD+ in Mexico, Nepal and Vietnam project (CoCooR)
2. Hydropower Development in the Context of Climate Change project
3. Climate Policy, Conflicts and Cooperation in Peri-Urban South Asia towards Resilient and Secure Water Communities project
4. Community based Adaptive Learning in the management of Conflicts and Natural Resources project,(CALCNR)

The event was held during Oct 30 to Nov 1 2017 at Shaligram Hotel, Jawalakhel.

Dr. Hari Dhungana and Gyanu Maskey from SIAS shared the learning of the project ‘Conflict and Cooperation over REDD+ in Mexico, Nepal and Vietnam (CoCooR)’ in the event. The Policy Brief ‘Towards a Just REDD+: Transforming Forest Conflicts in Nepal’ was also disseminated to the stakeholders. The project consortium includes SIAS, University of East Anglia (UK), RECOFTC – The Center for People and Forests (Thailand), Institute of Cultural Studies (Vietnam), Winrock International (USA) and Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (Mexico).
