This week marks the completion of 60 days of lockdown in Nepal. Also, this week, the federal government has finally started to act on bringing stranded Nepalis home. The unprecedented role the local governments are playing in managing the COVID crisis will be further challenged in the foreseeable future. Within this context, this week we have the chairperson of Municipal Association of Nepal (MuAN) and mayor and deputy mayors from four municipalities/rural municipalities sharing their experience of managing the COVID situation within their respective municipal jurisdiction.
The presentation with the (deputy)mayors, will be followed by a commentary from Dr. Hemant Ojha, associate professor in Insitute of Policy and Governance, University of Canberra.
We expect your participation in this timely discussion.
