Basanta Neupane, Research officer (Intern)

Basanta Neupane holds a Master’s degree in Geography from the Central Department of Geography, Tribhuvan University. He is a teaching assistant at Patan Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has more than two years of teaching experience. He has also worked in the Central Department of Geography as a research assistant. He is a life member of the Nepal Geographical Society, Nepal, and he is working as a managing editor of ‘The Himalayan Review” journal. His primary research interest is climate change management, rural-urban planning and development, political ecology, livelihood, and natural resources management. He has good skills in academic writing, GIS, spatial analysis, and policy analysis. He also loves to write about contemporary political and social issues.

He joined the Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) in December 2022. Currently, he is involved in “The United Kingdom Research Initiative (UKRI) Global Challenge Research Fund (GCRF) funded Multi-Hazard Urban Disaster Risk Transition: Reducing Disaster Risk in “Tomorrow’s Cities” project.
