Reflective Blog sharing event

Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) organized a reflective blog-sharing event on December 16, 2022. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Ramesh Bhusal, Nepal Editor for the Third Pole and an environmental journalist based in Kathmandu who provided his constructive feedback to the blog drafts shared by the participants of the Blog Writing Workshop before.

Before the workshop, the drafts were shared to Mr. Bhusal for review who then shared his reflections on the drafts in the event one by one. Mr. Bhusal’s overall suggestion was to develop an argument before building a story during the writing process. He stressed reading more stating that every writing process involves more reading and thinking than the actual writing process. He also suggested in making authentic claims and not deforming the quotes. The participants also shared their challenges during the plot weaving and the writing process.

It was the final concluding session of the blog writing workshop that was organized on October 10, 2022. After the workshop, the participants drafted the blogs and they were at different stages of peer reviews. The reflective workshop was organized for the blog writing participants to share their experiences, learnings, and challenges in the writing and revising process. The interaction was very helpful for the authors in advancing the publication of the blogs.
