Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) is a Kathmandu-based research institute. SIAS invites applications from highly motivated, proactive and committed candidates for the position of ‘Knowledge management officer’.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Produce impactful content for policy and public stakeholders from research findings in English and Nepali (such as blogs, audio-visual resources, infographics, press release, case stories etc.)
- Produce communication materials and reports from different events, policy dialogues, seminar series and fieldwork in coordination with the research team.
- Manage and regularly update contents in communication platforms such as office website and social media to enhance organizational visibility.
- Review, edit and copyedit the knowledge products of SIAS.
- Facilitate in-house publications – journals, books, policy briefs and other communication materials and disseminate them through appropriate channels
- Closely work with IT Associate/Officer to design and disseminate knowledge products.
- Contribute to drafting and dissemination of organizational newsletter and annual report.
- Participate in research project meetings, seminars and policy dialogues and networking events with SIAS affiliates and partner organizations.
Duration and duty station:
It is a Kathmandu-based position starting with 3 months probationary period.
Qualifications and skills
- Master’s degree in Media Studies, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Sociology, Developmental Studies, Geography, or any relevant field with at least 1 year of working experience.
- Prior working experience in knowledge management and documentation, research and communication roles with strong interest and experience in creative content writing, social media posts and website management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Ability to deliver assigned tasks with minimal supervision, including strong time management, computer and communication skills.
Salary: This is a paid position. Salary and other benefits will be based on the competency of the candidate based on the experience, qualification and interest.
