Pema Norbu Tsumpa Lama, Research Associate

Pema Norbu Tsumpa Lama is serving at SIAS in the position of Research Associate since Jan 2017. He is particularly engaged in the project ‘Conflict, Violence and Environmental Change: Investigating Resource Governance and Legitimacy in Transitional Societies’ (CoVEC). He is responsible for field exploration and data collection, preparing and analyzing field notes and report, literature review, organizing and participating in relevant forums, updating website and active coordination and communication in regards to the project.

He belongs from a very remote and isolated yet beautiful community called ‘Tsum’ which lies in the northern part of Gorkha district. He is passionate in working closely with the rural communities and adding insights into the project research. Prior to joining SIAS, he worked as Research Assistant for two years in research project titled ‘Narrating Nepal Earthquake’ under the leadership of senior researchers Professor Kristine A Hildebrandt, Geoff Childs from USA and Dr. Dubi Nanda Dhakal of Tribhuwan University. Currently, he is pursuing his Bachelors of Arts. He is avid nature and animal lover and sports fan particularly football.
