SIAS invites applications from highly motivated, proactive and committed candidates for the position of Research Intern – Climate Finance. The purpose of this position is to train and develop an intern on the research process, writing and managerial roles.
Major Responsibilities
- Review relevant literature and policy documents on Women Entrepreneurship, Climate Finance and Payment for Ecosystem Services and archive for research purposes.
- Coordinate events organized by SIAS and actively participate in relevant forums.
- Engage in field work as required, prepare detailed field reports and transcribe interviews.
- Translate documents and contribute to analysis and write-up from field data.
- Produce and contribute to reports, journal articles, blogs, and other publications.
- Carry other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Duration and duty station
It is a Kathmandu-based position and requires frequent field visits. This position is until December 2025 (including 1 month probation period) with the possibility of an extension with promotion based on performance, requirements of SIAS, and availability of funds.
Qualifications and skills
- Master’s degree (preferred) in Development Studies, Environmental Science, Forestry, or any relevant field within areas of Natural Resource Management and Climate Change.
- Experience in conducting qualitative research and data analysis.
- Good written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali.
- Ability to deliver assigned tasks with minimal supervision, including strong time management, computer and communication skills.
Salary
This is a paid position. Salary and other benefits will be based on the candidate’s competency demonstrated during the selection process.
