Basanta Paudel is a Geographer with PhD in Physical Geography and Post-doctorate in Environmental Ecology; and interested in geographical research i,e., land change science, ecosystem services, socio-ecological systems, policy research and climate change adaptation with the application of social survey and advanced geographical tools: GIS, Remote Sensing, UAV, MATLAB, and SPSS.
Dr. Paudel published over 50 research articles in different international journals, and 5 book chapters. “Geography of Nepal Himalaya” is his recently published book. Dr. Paudel was awarded from different prestigious awards including Nepal Bidhya Bhusan “Ka” in 2017, Excellent PhD Graduate Award in 2017 from UCAS, Director Excellent Graduates Award in 2017 from IGSNRR-CAS, Jagat Bahadur Singh Budhathoki Gold Medal in 2014, and Nepal Bidhya Bhusan “Kha” in 2012.
Dr. Paudel is now engaged as a Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China under CAS – President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI).
