With Tomorrow’s Cities (TC) project concluding in March 2024, an ‘Action Planning Workshop for Tomorrow’s Rapti (Deukhuri) Capital City’ as a ‘Wrap-up’ in Rapti, was organised by NSET on March 22, 2024 in Hotel Green Lumbini, Lamahi, Dang.
Representatives from all the consortium partners of Nepal including SIAS, IoE, NDRI and Practical Action Nepal along with TC principal investigator, Prof. Mark Pelling and WP1 co-lead Prof. Max Hope were present at the event. The invitees included senior officials from government organisations such as MoHA, MoFAGA, and NDRRMA and representatives from provincial and local governments like Rapti Rural Municipality, Gadhawa Rural Municipality, Shitganga Municipality, Ghorahi Municipality and Lamahi Municipality, etc., including the Provincial Secretary of Lumbini Province as the Chief guest. The event housed a dedicated panel discussion on the master plan and also on the institutionalization and further implementation of the Tomorrow’s Cities Decision Support Environment (TCDSE) in Rapti/Deukhuri capital city.
The book ‘Socialising Tomorrow’s Cities’ was displayed for the invitees throughout the event. In the event, glimpses of all the work packages were also showcased to the guests through posters.
