Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) and NIMS College jointly organized the second seminar of the Advanced Scientific Writing Workshop Series on July 2, 2023 at NIMS College, Lalitpur. Dr. Uttam Babu Shrestha, Director, Global Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies (GIIS) presented his experience on “Navigating the Review Process: tips and tricks for journal article writing”. Dr. Shrestha provided detailed insights on systematic review practices, scientific paper structure, and the journal article writing process. He also pointed out to the participants how to escape the traps of “predatory journals” and how to recognize these journals. A very interactive and insightful discussion also took place during the presentation by Dr. Shrestha.
Dr Mani Ram Banjade, MD of NIMS College, moderated the discussion session. Towards the end of the session, Dr. Anushiya Shrestha, Research Director, SIAS, shared the plan of the upcoming sessions and requested the participants to revise their draft synopsis according to the comments of their respective mentors. She informed that the participants (authors) will have an opportunity to interact with their respective mentors in the next session, which will help them revise, clarify the scope and arguments, and start drafting their papers.
