Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) in collaboration with NIMS College, Kathmandu is organizing an ‘Advanced Scientific Writing Workshop series’ from April-September 2023. This intensive training workshop aims to enable early to mid-career researchers to produce a ready-to-submit draft of an article with key guidance from mentors (experienced researchers).
The scientific writing workshop module will include a combination of a number of seminars from experienced researchers on different aspects of scientific writing and writing workshops including mentors. The key topics of seminars include the introduction and problem statements, reviewing the literature, structuring findings in accordance with the analytical framework, and writing discussions and conclusions. Seminars will be open while writing workshops will be organized exclusively for writing participants and mentors.
The workshop series will include a maximum of 20 participants consisting of early to mid-career researchers (researchers, faculties, doctoral students, and post-doctoral researchers). Each participant will be assigned a mentor to review and provide feedback on the idea and paper draft (written comments and feedback in the writing workshops).
We accept papers on broader themes such as natural resource management, water and food security, climate change and disasters, public policy and local governance, entrepreneurship, innovation development and women’s economic empowerment.
Interested candidates are requested to submit an expression of interest with 250-300 words abstracts by 31st March, 2023 at sias-info@sias-southasia.org.
Participation in the training workshop will include a fee of NPR 3000.
Most of the workshops will be conducted physically. Seminars can be hybrid with physical and virtual participants but we encourage physical participation. One of the workshops will be residential for the selected participants.
