On Sunday 31st October SIAS organized an event to launch the book “DHULIKHEL’S JOURNEY TOWARDS WATER SECURITY: INSIGHTS FOR POLICY AND PRACTICE”. The book was released by Mr. Ashok Byanju, Mayor of Dhulikhel municipality and Dr. Netra Prasad Timsina, the Chairperson of SIAS.
The book documents Dhulikhel’s journey towards water security and builds on about half a decade of collaboration between Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) and Dhulikhel municipality on working towards linking science, policy and practice on urban water management. Blending the perspectives of researchers, policy makers and practitioners, it provides insights on climate adaptive and inclusive water governance relevant for emerging Himalayan towns.
The event was attended by participants from diverse sectors including researchers, academia, civil society and local government representatives. 3 reviewers from the academia reflected on the book and provided their feedback at the event. Post a discussion session among the participants, copies of the book were also made available to the participants and their institutions.
