Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) organised two capacity building workshops in November. It organized a Capacity-building workshop on mentoring on November 17 2022, where Dr. Meeta Sainju Pradhan, Senior Research Fellow of SIAS shared important and useful tips for the enhancement of professional careers. Icebreaker exercises were conducted in relation to mentoring through Mentimeter (an interactive polling/ word cloud software) and there were some serious reflections on the participants’ life purpose and goals, how they would like to attain it, as well as the kind of support they need to get to that point.
Dr. Pradhan also shared the tips, which she had gained from a workshop she recently participated.
In another series of the capacity-building workshop, Dr. Hemant Ojha, Founder member, SIAS and Dr. Dinesh Paudel, Senior Research Fellow, SIAS facilitated an engaging session on November 18 2022. SIAS researchers were requested to brainstorm their most rewarding experiences as well as the most critical challenges that they are facing while delivering their roles. Based on the experiences shared by the researchers through Mentimeter, Dr. Paudel and Dr. Ojha shared their ideas on being a critical researcher. They stimulated the early career researchers to take multitasking as an asset to grow as a research leader in the competitive market.
