SIAS is pleased to announce the opportunity for fellowship research, and is open to aspiring researchers from Nepal and South Asia.
We encourage young researchers and scholars wishing to advance their research capacity on social, political, economic and environmental sciences. We offer dedicated mentoring and interdisciplinary learning environment for research, networking and publication.
We also offer fellowship opportunities on themes and research topics that fit into the research being undertaken by SIAS faculty members. Existing research and interests of SIAS faculties include a range of topics that span across contemporary development, governance, social justice and environmental debate.

- Public policy (generic and sectoral fields)
- Agriculture and food security
- Social justice movements
- Urbanization
- Climate change and local institutions
Duration:
We organize flexible, need-based arrangement to enable fellows to undertake research with us. Average duration of the fellowship is for six months.
Fee and scholarships
- Fee for fellows mentoring : NPR 50,000
A limited number of scholarships and partial waivers are available for deserving candidates. If a fellow’s interests match with those of any researchers or senior fellows at SIAS, we waive tuition fees and could also offer some subsistence, depending on the availability of financial resources and deservingness of the prospective fellow.
Time: Start time is flexible and should be negotiated.
