Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) organised an enumerator’s workshop on 22nd October to 23rd October 2021 with an aim to bring together enumerators from all the eight survey villages from Nepal and share their reflection on one-year data collection and overcoming the challenges in data collection during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the two-day event, the participants shared their experiences and challenges of recurring survey, remote data collection strategies during the pandemic, challenges faced by the farmers during different stages of the lockdown and the different kinds of climatic and non-climatic threats that they faced during the survey year. The enumerator also ranked the most common threats, most severe threats, their responses and new livelihood actions in their respective survey villages as per their perception developed during yearlong engagement in the sites. The COVID impact on livelihood across the villages were also analysed based on matrix table where the enumerators presented the information themselves.
