Brief description of the activity/project: This is a Multi Stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP) supported project, which aims at strengthening the capacity of MSFP partners and collaborators towards achieving the goal of building climate resilience in an inclusive and equitable way. Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) has been engaged as a professional service provider to support MSFP and its implementing agencies to systematically document and communicate agendas of climate change resilience and adaptation planning with a focus on forestry sector. The main objectives of this project include a) to strengthen the capacity of MSFP stakeholders in developing inclusive climate resilient resource management and forestry business systems, b) systematically document and communicate field insights, experiences, issues and opportunities for climate change resilience and adaptation planning and c) to spark new waves policy discussions drawing on the evidence and experience from the field activities supported by MSFP.
One of the major outcome of MSFP is to reduce climate change vulnerability of over a half million households in Nepal. For this it is important for MSFP implementing agencies (IAs) to have adequate capacity to articulate field level experience and evidence to policy circles at the national level, through effective use of evidences and documents. Thus with support and participation of the MSFP IAs, a series of capacity development and knowledge management activities have thus been conducted and planned. The initiative involves learning together amongst practitioners and researchers for generating workable knowledge and policy insights, and co-developing written outputs targeted at policy audience and other constituencies.
